Reid, who had been part of the Eagles' braintrust that drafted Foles, reached out with an offer to join the Chiefs as a backup quarterback behind Alex Smith. Foles, aware of the potential for personal and professional growth under Reid, accepted the offer. "I called Andy and told him, 'If you'll still have me, I think there's still something inside me. There's still something and I think if anywhere I can get it -- it would be with you.'" Joining the Chiefs reignited Foles’ passion for football. "I broke down in tears in the film room. I was excited to go to practice again," he shared.

Just eighteen months later, Foles returned to the Philadelphia Eagles and orchestrated a fairy-tale run to the Super Bowl. His remarkable performance in the playoffs, capped by a victory in Super Bowl LII, cemented his legacy. During the postseason, Foles did what no quarterback had done before—throwing and catching a touchdown pass. Beyond the sensational plays, Foles achieved an unparalleled 68.1% completion percentage, the highest in NFL playoff history.
